Just like your computer, the software on your phone needs to be updated periodically to make sure you have all the latest fixes and enhancements to keep it running at optimal performance. Follow the steps below to check your current version and perform any needed updates.

Check the version on your phone
To check the version on your phone:

• From the Main screen, select Options (wrench icon)
• Click the Trackball
• Select About

• Software Version will be listed on the third line in the format v4.X.X.XX ______________________________________________________________________

To update your 8350i:

Note: There are two different ways to update your phone, Over the Air (OTA) or by connecting your phone to your computer and downloading the update via the web.

• If you are on version 4.6.1.204 (316) you can do the upgrade OTA.
• If you are on version 4.6.1.128(225) you will need to do the upgrade via the computer.

Over the Air:

1. From the Main screen, select Options (wrench icon)
2. Select Advanced Options
3. Select Wireless Upgrade
4. Select Next
5. Select Check for Upgrades
6. Select the 4.6.1.313 (459) wireless BlackBerry Device Software upgrade package
7. Select Next
8. Select Start Download
9. Select Upgrade Now
10. To schedule a time to install the BlackBerry Device Software, select Schedule Upgrade
11. Select Upgrade Now again

Warning: You will be unable to use the BlackBerry smartphone or make emergency calls for up to 2 hours during the installation process.

Via the Web:

• From your computer, go to BlackBerry's software download site to get the latest updates.

Note: Once you have updated your phone it is recommended that you power cycle your phone by turning it off and back on again.
